Editorial policy

Emerald Perspective aims to make interior design ideas legible and useful. We explain the basis of our claims, distinguish general principles from personal taste, and make changes when a published detail needs correction.

Accuracy and clarity

Writers should check factual claims against suitable sources and make the reasoning behind recommendations clear. Where a point depends on a room, material or use case, we say so rather than presenting it as a rule for every home. We avoid claims that an article cannot support.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for the publication's readers. A commercial relationship does not determine our conclusions or guarantee coverage. We do not present paid placement as independent editorial judgment.

Corrections

If you spot a factual error or unclear passage, contact us through the Contact page and identify the article and detail. We review specific reports and correct material when warranted. Significant changes should be made clear to readers.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid or partner material is identified in a clear label near the relevant content or placement. It is kept distinct from independent editorial material. Some illustrations are AI-generated; when used, they are identified as such so readers can tell an illustration from a photograph of a real room or object.

Our point of view

A room is a set of choices

Start with what the room needs to do, then look at the details that help it do that. A clear plan beats a pile of attractive things.
